Yesterday, thanks to Marcel, I had the privilege of touring the CINCO facility in Highland Park and meeting their amazing Executive Director, Martha Rivera. If you've never heard of CINCO please visit their website here and check out the amazing work their doing. This isn't exactly Hollywood, but there are a lot of things we could learn from this community program that could be implemented in Hollywood.
The urban art above has nothing to do with CINCO, but it was in the parking lot next to the building and I just loved it. We're considering something like this on our ugly freeway wall. What do you think?
Afterwards we had some amazing Salvadorian food down the road.

I wonder if we could paint a mural. Most taggers don't deface urban art. But what kind of image could we paint that would reflect the church and dissuade taggers?
It would be nice yeah?

I like the murals a lot. I'm a fan of urban art. If you know someone with painting skillz who'd be willing to scrawl on your wall, I'd say go for it!

Mural, mural, on the wall . . . A prophetic scene for one and all?

Seems like the best way to stop graffiti is not to whitewash but to paint something inspiring in its place. I suspect there's a great spiritual parallel to that too.
