Of all the worship services/series we've had this last year, last summer's Apocalypse was one of our family's favorites. It gave our three young boys a chance to share their thoughts and feelings about church, spirituality, pop culture, art, entertainent, relationships and the environment.
But just like last year, part of this year's series falls in the middle of our family road trip vacation. Maybe we'll have to leave later or return earlier so we don't miss too many services. Podcasts are great, but it's not the same as experiencing it in community with the most talented and committed group of musicians, storytellers, artists and worship leaders.
I can't wait for the Apocalypse!

I can't help but notice that many conservative SDA's seem convinced that Satan is everywhere, not just in "the world", but in the church as well, forever infiltrating it with "bad" (progressive or just new or different) ideas, undermining The Message, etc. I'm not sure that says much about the power of God they claim to believe in.
In contrast, the idea that God can be found everywhere, even in the bad things of life, doesn't seem to occur to them, or to most Christians generally. Seems a bit ironic to me.
The word Apocalypse has very frightening, sensational, beast-driven connotations, so it's good to see a church trying to see it from another perspective.
