Last Friday morning, November 7th, four friends recorded a conversation as a pilot for possible future podcast which will feature Adventist leaders in conversation. All the details are not worked out yet about how this podcast will develop in the future or how it will be distributed, if at all. So, I offer it here, as do my colleagues, for your enjoyment but especially for your feedback.
For those of you who have been a part of re-church in the past or have been recently involved in helping me think about the future of re-church, I am especially interested in your thoughts and whether this might be a helpful format for re-church to adopt as one of it's projects.
In this conversation is
- Kumar Dixit, Associate Pastor of New Hope Church in Fulton, Maryland and author of Wondering About God blog.
- Lisa Clark-Diller, Associate Professor of History at Southern Adventist University
- Julius Nam, Associate Professor of Religion and Theological Studies at Loma Linda University (dang, he has a Wikipedia entry. I don't have a Wikipedia entry) and author of Progressive Adventism blog.
- and myself.

Ryan,
Loved the podcast! It was an intelligent conversation (all except for the dig on Blanco and the Clear Word--not a defense of Clear Word, but Blanco). I hope y'all continue to use this outlet for conversation. I think it would be good as well to at times get folks that are not all basically coming from the same position so that there can be some respectful debate as well.
Blessings and happy Sabbath.

Thanks, Chad. Yeah, the thing about Blanco was in good fun, I think, but I'm a little out of the loop on that. :) You're right, though. What we mean as a joke could easily be misunderstood by others.
Stay tuned for next episode, which should be posted this weekend sometime, in which a couple of us do express some differences of opinion.
This is a four-part experiment. I think we will mix up the participants and get some other conversations going as well. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for the link. It was a great little podcast though a little too short. The quality of the recording devices for some speakers wasn't too great but the quality of the content was great.
It was good to hear your account of how you were called to the conference office to explain your believes with regard o homosexuality and your explanation of applying Christian moral values to the world. You are hit the nail on the head. I, nor any other adventist, have the right to tell people who are not Christian or Adventist how to live their lives or that they should live according to our standards. I think that this is something that all too often Christians get mixed up and it has therefore infected the whole debate and faith and the public square.
More podcasts please!
