One of my favorite columnists is Newsweek Editor, Jonathan Alter. His recent editorial demonstrates that this current administration/congress is fleecing normal American families in favor of big business. Read his editorial here and tell me what you think. Here's what my friend, Monte Sahlin had to say...
What is amazing to me is that lack of outcry among the voters on this. Almost every average American will either go through bankruptcy personally or one of their parents, siblings or children will do so at some point in life. Have we sunk so far into a "winner/loser" mentality that most Americans somehow think this will never be a personal issue for them?
And where are the "moral values" Christians on this? This clearly a violation of the Bible's teaching against usury, a teaching much more clear, specific and demanding than the Bible's position on homosexuality. Why are these Christians so selective in their reading of Scripture?
